“The most important thing in art is The Frame. For painting: literally; for other arts: figuratively– because, without this humble appliance, you can’t know where The Art stops and The Real World begins. You have to put a ‘box’ around it because otherwise, what is that s**t on the wall?”

Frank Zappa

A good festival is the perfect frame for live music. As performers we are framed by a stage with pretty lights and a huge sound system. We’re framed by the artists that play before and after us. Most importantly, we’re framed by an event where music is the priority. Where people come to hear something new and exciting.

I feel extremely lucky to be able to have the Yosemite Music Festival in my back yard each year. By striking a balance between the strange and the familiar, traditional and experimental, this intimate and friendly festival creates and atmosphere of joy and creativity. I am really proud that Bootstrap Circus are part of it.

On July 8th, the gates to Mariposa Fairgrounds are where the real world stops, and the art begins. Step into the frame, and enjoy the show.
